I saw this last series on the History channel, but I'm not going to spoil it for you. What makes me mad though, from series one, you get the drivers and commentator saying 'If something happens out here on the Haul Road, there's no way to get help.' blah blah blah.
Using FSX I decided to follow the route from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay and guess what, there is at least six airstrips along that route, and if you follow the route on Google earth, you'll see most of them are right next to the road, so things are not quite as bad as they suggest.
I watched a new series last night on Quest called 'Outback Truckers' from Australia and to be fair, it made the guys from IRT look professional. There was this one driver, heading toward a rail crossing in one of their road trains (twice as long) with a car in front at about 120kph. The lights on the crossing were flashing so the car slows to a stop. The road train pulls out, passes the car and crosses the crossing, all the time the driver is 'complaining', 'These car drivers have no idea how long it takes to stop one of these trucks'......... Well, if a train had been crossing, what would 'she' have done then.
But again, it was, 'if something happens out in the bush, we are in trouble', but I bet there is airstrips along the way.
Anyways, rant over, enjoy IRT Fozzer

Hello Rich....

...!
....as an enthusiastic Sim Peterbilt 18-wheeler trucker, and an alternative to Flight Simming I take my various trucks from the; 18 Wheels of Steel across America, Pedal to the Metal, Rig 'n Roll, Euro Trucker, etc, driving games, on tours at ground level amongst some amazing scenery!
Lots of fun, with a steering wheel and pedals!

Paul...*I don't get to watch much TV!...

Looking forward to tomorrow night's Truckers!... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!

Hey Paul, I got 18WOS extreme trucker and just recently 18 WOS Haulin, which I found a great add-on of the Dalton Hyw, aka The Haul Road. Can't remember were I got it but copy this into google or what ever search engine you use,
Dalton-Elliot-Highway-Extreme-v1.95.rar
Just extract the file and put it in the mod folder in 18wos haulin. It's a challange, just as you think you got a handle running the haul road it will bit you in the arse if you get to comfertable. Those drivers really earn there pay, at my age just running it in the sim gives me a rush, would have love to have heard about this hwy in my younger days, I'm still thinking about just running it as a civillan with my camper truck.

Ta for the heads-up. Ang..
I've downloaded the 2 RAR Files (Prog +the patch).
I don't know if it will work in my WOS Across America, and WOS Pedal to the Metal...
I'll give it a try!
I've got an idea that "WOS Extreme Trucker" also covers the Ice Road route...>>>

I watch Ice pilots on line all the time because it airs at 10pm on a weekday, no way I can stay up late. Two days after it airs on tv it should be available on your countries version of online History or Discovery channels.
