Richard Todd OBE has passed away aged 90. Most famed for playing Guy Gibson in the Dam Busters. A truly great actor :'(

How about 'The Hasty Heart' with Ronnie Reagan (of Presidential fame) and I always liked his version of 'Robin Hood'.

Never saw it. Highly decorated officer in the Paras, so mucho respect there. Just been reading his obiturary on the BBC. What an amazing life!

Indeed he was. Certainly alongside the Dambusters, one of his most famous roles was as Major John Howard, leader of the assault on the Benouville Canal Bridges (Pegasus Bridge) in "The Longest Day". As a soldier on D-Day he also parachuted in the area near the bridges, and met with Howard later that day as they reinforced the initial assualt force.
