Actually the preview makes you think that aliens come to earth and the people on earth just try to kill them but there is a TOTALLY diffrent story.

As for my review, I thought it was a good action movie. Lots of good detail in the aliens a good story mode. Sometimes it kept me to the edge of the seat to see what choice they were chossing to do next. Alot of provanity, alot. Pretty much if you like Humans v.s. Alien type of movies you'll love this. Although the beginning is a bit confusing because it acts like a documentary. I think its a solid storyline, and at the end of the movie it keeps you wondering. Im still debating on a sequel which I think they're will be. 8-)

I have not seen it, but I have looked into it as much as I could, since I adore true scifi.

CAUTION!!!  ANYTHING YOU READ AFTER THIS MAY BE A SPOILER!!!

From what I gather, the movie centers around the idea that aliens have landed (perhaps mistakenly) on Earth.  The world leaders have contained them in District 9 and the aliens aren't allowed to leave the area.  However, the governments of the world are keeping them in line by threatening nuke retribution if any of the aliens make a move against humans.

I think this is one of the types of movies that tells more than the sum of it's parts.  I for one will be seeing this movie ASAP.

Travis, that is what the movie is mainly about. They are trying to leave but they need to find a fuel to leave earth. They were actually trying to move the aliens to a different place because South Africa didn't want them there.

Then after that is mainly the story...that I wont spoil.  ;)

Okay, now I have seen it.  Wow.

Best parts were definitely the use of the alien weapons.  Incredible "wet explosions" ;).

And the pig getting thrown by the mech was hysterical!

Sequel should be in the works, if you ask me.  After all: "3 years."
