Already got the reminder set Matt ;)

I was a huge fan in the 90s, it was one of the most intellegently written comedies ever.

Didn't know quite what to make of that.....loved the original programs but I just didn't find the one tonight that amusing (there were a few funny moments though) ;)

that gentlemen is why the movie that was intended for so long was never made.
Fans like to look on these shows fondly but at the time of its ending it had seriously run its course and was right to end when it did. Its easy to forget these things.

It felt like something was missing and the jokes felt forced :(

someone pointed this out on the digitalspy forums. The canned laughter was missing, but they left the pause in after the jokes as though they were expecting the laughter.

It wasn't actually canned originally.....almost all of the other series were filmed in front of a live audience....;)

This sounds better for Saturday

Those that tune in will be treated to the highly-touted trip to Coronation Street, which definitely delivers the goods and contains an outrageously funny one-liner from Craig Charles. Kryten has an amusing encounter with a letter box, while Chris Barrie's linguistic skills are used to great effect as Rimmer goes Northern. The experiences of the Dwarfers are also cleverly bound together by a very overt homage to a certain classic science fiction film, which we won't name in case it spoils the fun. Similarly, expect a couple of genuinely surprising plot twists to be thrown into the mix.
In the next two episodes, you are going to see a few treats not yet released to the media. I promise you the RD jokes start flowing thick and fast and the pace is perfect ala series 5/6.

The first was disappointing, saying that I will watch them all....can't be any worse than the start :-?
