The Cosmos Rocks is the new album by Queen and Paul Rodgers....

What are your opinions..

My first impression so far

The albums is quite bluesy and as a standalone project not affiliated to Queen it would be quite nice but I personally can't get rid of Mercury's voice basically Haunting Rodgers Voice... it is like whichever line Rodgers sings get's repeated by Freddy in my head. Sounds strange but I think some of you will get what I mean...

All in all I think the album and the new formation just has to grow on you. The new album is a new Queen and will have to convince a lot of people of its worth all over again... Not a bad thing, not a bad band and so far quite a nice album.

My Verdict... Don't expect an old Queen with a new voice but expect a whole new Queen. A Queen that still sounds magnificent!

Paul Rodgers is an excellent singer and if anyone could step into Freddie's shoes it's him. I've only heard the track C-lebrity from the new album and if I'm honest, I don't like it. Seems they're trying to be the old Queen..

I do have to say if they let Paul do his own thing vocally they have every chance of success as "Queen with Paul Rodgers" (good choice of name too).

;)

Just watched a video of Queen and Paul Rodgers performing C-Lebrity. I've never heard anything by Queen with Paul Rodgers, and of course Queen without Freddie Mercury won't ever be what it used to, but Paul Rodgers does a very good job with the new Queen! There were some points when he was singing when he sounded very much like Freddie Mercury; although this is the only song I've heard by them I'd say Paul Rodgers is doing a good job. :)

C-Lebrity is one of the 2 or 3 songs where they try to copy the old queen... I don't really like those as well.... the rest is quite great though... Really nice music to work on  :D
