Dear Hollywood...

Please do not send me any more films involving the following:

Small furry animals on a quest
Children (or childlike creatures) thrust into the middle of an epic world saving adventure
A small band of survivors fighting off hordes of flesh eating zombies caused by a man made virus.

I understand that this will be difficult for you as that is all you have been able to make for the last decade, but I have faith that you can learn a new trick here or there.  If I don't see something original soon, I am going to throw up...  :P

I'm glad it isn't just me who is fed-up with the mindless pap they seem hell-bent on producing!

I loved 'Finding Nemo,' as I did 'Cars' and 'Chronicles of Narnia.'  Prince Caspian looks like an excellent film too, but it's been done so many times now and is so formulaic, it's getting REAL old now...

Bee-movie is actually very nice. It's with a fury animal, but man, the formation bee-flight trough Central Park and the surrounding city is mindblowing on a big screen! Seriously!

But Kevin, you know that there is a whole independent circuit out there, don't you? Less Hollywood, more real feelings and stories.

I actually find myself watching a lot of foreign film.  The French really can do something well besides make wine and surrender.  Mexico is very surpising in the quality of films they put out and Japan is the king.  Kurosawa is pretty much a god to me and has been for years.    Unfortunately, despite advances, it is still very much inaccessible in the US, as are small indie films.  If it didn't make $300 million, no one wants to carry it.  The largest movie/record store here in town doesn't even have a foreign section and it's a pretty large store,

Then we are a bit better of in Belgium. Here you can catch those indie-movies in special theatres and on the Tv they are shown on the public broadcasting net. The second net shows more cultural programs ( documentaries, movies, music,...).

But, like in your country, pulp is becomming the standard fast. And the same goes for music.
