i don't know....i just felt the urge to express that this was one of the best movies i' ve ever seen, but it didn't seem to make more than a ripple...great shot near the end, with the kid on the tower and the pilot waving, as the mustang flew by. and the young japanese pilot.... :'(....i don't know who the main actor was, but he was great...and seemed to have just disappeared....cheers.

Empire of the Sun was a really great movie and it teaches a very valuable lesson about life and riches.

Would you believe that little boy (Christian Bale) grew up to be the new Batman..... ;D

I think the new "Batman Begins" is the best Batman yet. I love the new Batmobile and in the immortal words of Gordon, "I gotta get me one of those!"
;D

It is a great shot of "Hoof" Re: empire of the sun

It is indeed. Very talented ex-RAF Harrier pilot, who was killed in the crash of The Fighter Collection's P-38 Lightning at Duxford in July 1996.

IIRC, he was the first RAF Harrier exchange pilot in the early 70s, helping the introduction into service of the USMC AV-8A.

It's now quite difficult to find a decent biography of him on the web as any search is filled answers say P-38 crash 14 July 1996... ::)
