the movie...Anyone else seen it?

It's quite good :)

The girlfriend surprised me by taking me to see it over the weekend and overall it's decent enough.

I'm going this weekend to see it with my female companion. :) We compromised though, because I took her to see The Last Kiss on Friday. ;)

Not seen it yet. Is is any good?

The flying sequences were filmed at RAF Halton. I know the Shuttleworth Collection Bristol Fighter & Beriot XI are featured in it. Also a Nieuport 17 replica based at Popham. Photos taken during filming here. http://www.jhs.flyer.co.uk/Flyboys%20@%20RAF%20Halton/index.html

I heard it was crap, and even though "based on a true story" like all Hollywood movies very little truth was involved.

I will wait for the DVD ;)

I'm not debating the "true story" claim of the movie, but rather the quality of the movie because I know just about anything is going to be twisted even if just a little to give what would make better movies :)

I think that should be "better movies". The true story should be exciting enough for anyone.

It's good to see nice aeroplanes on the big screen... :)

As far as true stories go, I think films such as "Battle of Britain" (on a large scale) and "Memphis Belle" (on a more discreet scale) showed how to tell a true story through thinly veiled ficticious characters. :)

Well I am not saying that since it is twisted in truth makes it crap, that is just what i heard.
Mainly I cant see spending the amount of money to see a movie in the theater when you can buy and own the DVD.

And the fact that movies like this get me hyped because I know the story just to be let down in the end.

No matter how accurate it was, I still thought it was a good movie.

The flying sequences were awsome, and showed just how close those pilots were to each other in battle. 8)
