The girlfriend surprised me by taking me to see it over the weekend and overall it's decent enough.

I heard it was crap, and even though "based on a true story" like all Hollywood movies very little truth was involved.

I'm not debating the "true story" claim of the movie, but rather the quality of the movie because I know just about anything is going to be twisted even if just a little to give what would make better movies

I think that should be "better movies". The true story should be exciting enough for anyone.

It's good to see nice aeroplanes on the big screen...

As far as true stories go, I think films such as "Battle of Britain" (on a large scale) and "Memphis Belle" (on a more discreet scale) showed how to tell a true story through thinly veiled ficticious characters.

Well I am not saying that since it is twisted in truth makes it crap, that is just what i heard.
Mainly I cant see spending the amount of money to see a movie in the theater when you can buy and own the DVD.

And the fact that movies like this get me hyped because I know the story just to be let down in the end.

No matter how accurate it was, I still thought it was a good movie.

The flying sequences were awsome, and showed just how close those pilots were to each other in battle.
