hi........was watching this old b&w movie called five came back the other nite, and was wondering if anyone knew what aircraft they were using in it. it had double tail stabs. ???

How many engines, what nationality anything else about them aside from the twin rudders?

I checked the review of this film. I've probably seen it more than once but can't say I remember it.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007K07J/103-0576221-1103019?v=glance&n=404272 The aircraft is an American airliner named Silver Queen. It's a sleeper carrying 9 passengers. With twin fins I would guess it's something like a Lockheed Model 10 Electra.

thanks hagar, i got the impression that this plane in this particular movie with lucille ball, had twin fins but also twin stabilizers

Do you mean twin horizontal stablizers (tailplane)?

yep, twin stabilizers....thats what got me curious....and it did look similar to the electra.....

This rings a bell. I'm almost certain it's been mentioned here before. Unfortunately I forget what it was all about now.

thats the one..... aside from trying to rent the movie, to make sure i wasn't seeing things. i'll check with aviation world here in vancouver..they carry lots of info. and models etc.....thanks...
