hi guys, im doing a project right now about rockstars and why they die/dont die yong, and im to proove/disproove the statement of live fast die young if you're in a band.... i came across a possible cause of death among old timers (like Deedee and the contemporaries, those who die after retirement) called post stardom depression. i googled it but all i can find is info about an indie band with the same name... i was hoping maybe someone here would know anything about the topic, or point mein the right direction....

thnx :D

I don't know so much about the more modern ones but many of the old rock 'n roll stars like Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran & even Rick Nelson died in accidents while on a hectic tour schedule. It was suggested that the Rick Nelson incident involved drugs but I'm not sure how true that is. Many of these tours were badly planned & often meant leaving directly after the show & travelling to a town many miles away to get there in time for the next one. Some of the wealthier musicians often travelled by air to give them time for a rest between gigs, especially in large countries like the US. I don't think the situation has changed much over the years & you could find out by checking some of the tour schedules for currently popular bands. I thought this might be interesting & something you hadn't thought about.
