Bessie Smith and the Blues...!

Postby Pablo » Sat Oct 08, 2005 6:26 am

Hello fellow Blues enthusiasts...(All two of us)... ::)... ;D...!

Here's an interesting site, in that it is full of Bessie's songs in Realplayer/Mediaplayer Format for instant (FREE!) playing... ;D...!

Not everyone's cup of tea, but as a Hammond Organ and acoustic guitar player I love accompanying her as she growls at me, relating all the trials and tribulations of the life of Slaves in the Southern States... 8)... ;D...!

...a blast from the past...

Fantabulous... ;)...!

Pablo...Hammond draw-bar setting...688600000... ;)...!

Hi Sock... ;D...!

There you go....I knew there was at least two of us who are Blues enthusiasts... ;)... ;D...!

Sock....Download, and try RealPlayer.... ;)...!

Some music programs seem to prefer Realplayer instead of Windows MediaPlayer.

When you have BOTH programs on your 'puter, you can Right Click on the file and Open them with either selected player... 8)...!

(For most of my music files, I select MediaPlayer as my Default player).

Have a go, Sock, you will enjoy "Bessie's Blues"... ;)...

....Trust me...;D...!

Cheers Mate...

"Pablo"... ;)...!
LOL...!

P.S. Make sure you have ALL the boxes ticked in Player "File Types"... :)...!

"Ah woke up this morning, oh yeh woke up this morning, mama.
Woke up this morning, yeh woke up this morning mama,
Ah woke up this morning -
'Cos I went to sleep last night..."

Now that's what I call a twelve-bar blues, Pablo my son.

...no mention of the fact that your dog has just died, and your Missus has run off with the Mayor, and the toilet bucket has a hole in it, and the arse is out of your trousers, and your hair is falling out, and that cough you've got is getting worse, and......and....and.... :'(...!

Now THAT'S what I call the 12-bar blues.... ;)... ;D...!

Now if only I could find some old recordings to spin on my Panisonic turntable while I sway in my rocking chair enjoying the evening.  Ah, heaven! ;D

Wow! You can get all that in a twelve-bar blues?! Wagner had enough trouble with a plot that size in a five-hour opera!

;D ;)
