Marick, I need to say something here!  :o  :o  :o
First a little history of my own.
I started playing drums when I was around your age. My 1st set was a CB700 with Camber cymbals.

I eventually worked my way up to a Tama Superstar back in the early 90's. It was my kit for many years when I played in my original band. We Played places like The Limelight in Manhattan, Sundance, etc....  We also Made a CD that Metal blade Records paid for entitled, "Best Un-signed Band in America"!

My kit consisted of 2  24" bass drums, 14 snare, 8"  Tom, 10" Tom, 12" Tom, 13" Tom, 14" Tom, 15" Tom, 16" Floor Tom, 18" Floor Tom, 14" Zildjian High Hat, 16" Paiste 3000 Crash, 18" Paiste 3000 Crash, 21' Paiste Ride, 20" China Type.

After the original band went no place, I got into a cover band. This was fun.I Played every single Friday & Saturday at some of the biggest clubs here on the Island and in Manhattan! Playing this stuff was a no brainier compared to my original progressive rock band! I needed to downsize my kit to a Single 24" bass, dual bass pedals., 4" snare, 13" tom, 14" tom, 16" floor tom & Same cymbals!

I need to tell you that for your age, I am REALLY IMPRESSED!! You must practice allot as I know that those fills do not come easy and can only be executed by practicing! Your double pedal bass skill and drop fills are incredible! You seam to have a progressive rock influence but it also has allot of jazz incorporated into it! That video was unbelievable! You should be very proud of yourself! I can't imagine what you will be doing in years to come! It is real nice to see you so far along at your age. I sat and really watched it and my jaw is still on the floor. From the fills, to the beats, to the speed and to the build ups, what a talented young man you are!!

Really, really impressed!!!  :o  :o  :o

Keep it up dude!  8)

Thanks for sharing that as it reminded me of myself at your age   ;)

Hmmm.... You are better now than most of the drummers I ever played with that were twice your age, but I guess I will be the one to break it to you....you are far too talented to make it in the business today, you need to stop being a good musician and just start sounding like every other band out there and maybe you will get noticed, if you continue to play like you do or improve further, the only ones who will ever give you any respect are other musicians who recognize true talent, if you were to form a band of musicians that have abilities equal to yours, you can be sure that you will be condemned to an underground audience of true music lovers and your tunes will only be heard on satellite radio because the general FM audience has a real problem with any band that plays too many notes! (like Dream Theater.)

Personally I think you are awesome.

Yow!! Rock on, lil' dude!!
I started playing drums about 30 years ago and normally don't like drum solos (no, really!), but that was cool. I grew up worshipping Neil Peart and Ian Paice, and I'll tell you you've got some good stuff going there. That cross-handed stuff is not easy. How long have you been playing, and as they say in the kung fu movies: "who is your teacher?"
It's cool that you can appreciate Ringo- he has good time and you can almost always tell when it's him playing. Pyrotechnics is no match for personality... I learned a lot listening to guys like him, and Charlie Watts (now there's a "bad" drummer who's really amazing!)
As for not playing for the people, so to speak, don't let yourself get all high and mighty. You'll miss out on the rush of energy you get playing for a crowd- there's nothing like it.
Except maybe the first time you realize you can make pretty girls dance... ;)
Stick with it (I didn't, really)... you're a diamond in the rough! :)
