Which 5 popular bands or individual musicians do you think had the greatest influence on society in the 20th century? Or just which are your 5 favourites?

1) Elvis
2) Beatles
3) Rolling Stones
4) Sex Pistols
5) The Doors

You get a bonus "Bite of the Haggis" if you tell me which song and band the title of this thread is derived from. ;)

The Doors - 21st Century Fox?

You covered the top 5 well.  Title of this thread derived from '20th Century Schizoid Man' from King Crimson's first album, 'In the Court of the Crimson King'.

My problem with Bob Dylan is that I can't find any meaning in his lyrics (wtf is Deselation Row about ??? ) and he really couldn't play or sing lol.

That's the beauty and influence of Dylan though. So many found their own meanings to his music, he created a kind of poetry loving sub-culture that were looking for a pseudo prophet like him to fill in the words to their lives experiences. He was amazed at some of the interpretations people had for his lyrics. His autobiography is amazing, you should try to pick it up!

C'mon guys, dust it off and post your answers, I'd love to hear about everyone's choices. :)
