...and you could use it to see and hear a performance that you missed, what show would you like to see (any time or place)?  My choice would be to go to the Hot Club of France in Paris ca. 1948 to see Django Reinhardt and Stephan Grapelli play together, through a haze of smoke and absinthe. Django was possibly the greatest guitarist who ever lived!! If you play guitar and have never heard him, check it out. Even if you hate jazz you'll be impressed, esp. as he only had two fingers on his left hand!!

I think I'd like to go back to 1967 to see Janis Joplin and Big Brother at the Montgomery Pop Festival.

I'd go back to anywhere I could see Jim Morrison and The Doors perform live and also Jimi Hendrix.

I couldn't agree more! Django rules! Music that withstands the test of time like that deserves all our respect.

Plus the guy was somewhat Belgian...

As for the performance to go back to? no idea, there are so many....

I would go back to 7th December 2004 - not to see a show, but to cancel the Damageplan gig, thus saving the life of one of the worlds greatest guitarists Dimebag Darrell (R.I.P. my friend, we shall never forget).

As for seeing a show - Black Sabbath, any of their shows would be great.

Carl out.....

I think about this alot so I'm glad someone started a topic about this. Here's my list:

- of course Woodstock 69: three days of love and music!

- Jimi Hendrix anythime anywhere

- The Doors (with Jim Morrison of course). I'm going to their concert (The Doors of the 21st Century) as soon as they come to Belgium again.

- Queen, especially their concert at Wembley (I can recommend you the DVD)

- Pink Floyd Live at Pompej

- U2 Live at Redrocks

- Nirvana unplugged

- Led Zeppelin

Yes yes, I know good music when I hear it!  ;)

Not a bad choice. There are so many I've missed & I have broad tastes in music so it's difficult to think of just one. I would love to have seen Gene Krupa with the Benny Goodman band.

May 7, 1824, the first performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony.

"The master, though placed in the midst of this confluence of music, heard nothing of it at all and was not even sensible of the applause of the audience at the end of his great work, but continued standing with his back to the audience, and beating the time, till Fra
