Although most "boy bands" are pretty well on the gay side, there have been some good songs written and performed by the various "boy bands" over the years.

Depends what you call a "Boy Band". Most of the modern ones aren't bands at all as they usually sing & don't play instruments, not on the recordings anyway. What I call "Boy Bands" rarely write their own material & their hit recordings are usually rehashed old classics from years ago. They're pleasant enough to listen to but in most cases I prefer the originals. I can't see the point of making an almost exact duplicate, right down to the harmonies & arrangement. If there's something original about it - fine - but if not, why not re-release the original? Still, I don't expect the composers are too worried.

I suppose you could call most of the old Motown artists Boy Bands, the male ones anyway. How about the Four Seasons? Would they qualify? It's all music to me whatever else you like to call it. Good & bad in everything.

I love rock.  Interestingly enough, I hate guitar solos.  Tho' I hate boy bands worse. ;)

There's always been schlocky crapola music for the unsophisticated, and there always will be. Boy bands, the Simpson sisters (I can't stand either of 'em), that sort of thing... yawn!!  Who cares? Still plenty of incredible music out there, and with the state of technology now, there's more available now than ever before...
