Did anyone check out that video of Ashlee Simpson at SNL...she was performing when her band started playing and then all of a sudden you here her vocals but she was not singing...pretty much she was going to lip sing and blew it ::)...anyways at the end she blammed it on her band saying they played the wrong song 8)

here's the link..she just said that her voice wa out or somthing like that and she couldn't sing so she used these so called guide lyrics and her drummer pressed the wrong button and played the song

The excuse they gave. "it was a mix up with songs and the vocals they play are used to strengthen the sound of the song" is a pretty good one as they do it all the time even when a singer isnt going to lip sync. But in her case, she needs to get over the fact, she doesnt have as good or strong a voice as her sister, she isnt a pretty, and she cant do the ditzy blonde routine.

Elton John must be laughing himself silly. He's right though. Why pay upwards of $100 for good seats at a concert just to hear a CD that you can get for $15.

And people still seem to argue the point I have tried to make about "real" music?  ;D ;D ;D

In defence of young miss Simpson "flubs" during a live TV broadcast are not to uncommon, just ask any old timer who watched the Ed Sullivan Show.
And as for lip synicing, even in the hay days of American Bandstand, most musicians lip synic during a televised performance.  But I do agree with Sir Elton that if you PAY to see a singer you should receive a performance, but if your getting it for free what's the differance?  You still get to see the performer and hear them as you would on the radio.

During the "Pulse" tour, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd slipped a few choice comments at some muppet trying to climb onto the stage - that track never made it to the released concert footage - I was at Earls court that night, it was hilarious, and he did'nt miss a note either!!!
;D

After seein the RMA Awards last night and hearing her sing for real I can see why she needs to lip sync!!!
I can't belive that she really things she sounds good, that was AWFULL!!!!!!!!!

Of course Destinys Child had the CD player cranking, it was easy to tell.

There's soooo much more to being famous than just talent or skill... It kills me to see truly awesome musicians wasting away playing bars and clubs when no-talent dweebs are counting their millions.  You can't just be talented and expect MTV to call you; you gotta be charismatic, and marketable, and a lot of it comes down just plain old luck to get someone important to notice you.
