your ultimate album

Postby Craig. » Mon Aug 11, 2003 12:21 pm

this is something i havent seen done on here and thought i would bring up:).
basically name your ultimate album, it should contain between 12 and 18 songs, if you have time and patients please give a reason why each song is on there doesnt have to be long explination.
i'll start with mine.

1:metallica, enter sandman, i personally think an album needs to start off with life to it, and this is the perfect track to get you ready for the rest of album.

2:Kid Rock, Cowboy, the second track has to compliment the 1st but also slow it down a little. cowboy has both of those.

3:lifehouse, Hanging by a moment, its always good to appeal to all people, and plus this is a great song.

4:Bon Jovi, Its my life, this is a great pick me up track and its def a pick me up tune,

5:Uncle Kracker, Follow me, again another great tune that appeals to everyone.

6:Will Smith, summer time, I have never met anyone who doesnt like this song, and its the perfect tune to start the summer, or to chill to at a BBQ

7:Limp Bizket: My Way, two slower songs its time for some rock again:) and this is perfect.

8:alien ant farm, smooth criminal, why because i like it.

9:Michael Jackson, billie jean, one of the best songs of all times.

10:Creed, My sacrifice, no real reason, i like this song.

11:SugarHill Gang, rappers delight. good time for another slow song, and this is again one of the greatest of all time.

12:Eminem, Loose yourself, prob his best song ever.

13:evanesance, bring me to life, time to start winding the album down to a big finish.

14:Shaggy. Angel, one final slow song which is a cool song to get you ready for the big finish.

15:Nirvana, Smells like teen spirit, voted on numerous occasions as the greatest of all time, and is high on my list of favorates.

well thats mine how about you lot?:) sorry if its a little long dont worry about explinations if you dont want to

I never have liked 'Various Artists' albums.  I would much prefer to sit and listen to all of Abbey Road than listen to one song by the Beatles, one from the Stones, one from Zeppelin.  Sorry, 4 minutes is just not long enough for me!

I don't know about one definitive album that would have every song I like. Generally I like to listen to a whole album by one artist to get the feel of it. I don't really enjoy compilation albums much because I don't really get what the artist is going to say. But if I had to choose, it would end up looking something like this. I can only name the artists because I like too many of their pieces!

Chick Corea
Herbie Hancock
Miles Davis
Jean Michel Jarre
Giovanni Palestrina
Steve Reich
Dmitri Shostakovitch
The Brecker Bros
Michael Jackson
GRP All-Star Big Band
LTJ Bukem

I'll have to stop there....and I haven't even thought about naming pieces!
