I compleely agree there seems to be a lot of what I would consider to be 'crap' that somehow has been designated 'art' in this day and age .... My attitude is 'if I could do it ...... what is it doing in a gallery?'

But let's not forget that there still is great art at any time, including today

I used to work with a guy who had an art degree. This subject reminded me of a tale he related to me when he was at Uni. Hungover on the day of an exam he presented his lecturer with a blank canvas with one streak of blue paint across it. After a brief to and fro with the assessor, he was awarded a passing grade for his submission. He claimed it to be art of how he felt that morning and they accepted that it was then art.

Yep. After seeing the "Now" link, I rest my case too. And as soon as I'm done resting it, I might actually have a beer from it.

Art and music move through time, and the times, they are always a-changin', ain't they? So what was back then cannot be now, and what be now works because those that see what be now don't really know how it be'd back then.

So we go from "do be do be do" to "do wop do wop" to "Let's go surfin' now" to "Cmon baby light my fire" to "I got a rash for you, honey" and beyond.

And no matter how hard I try, my local food store just won't pipe in any Black Sabbath.

Only Einstein knew how to stop time, the rest of us gotta live with it. And rest on our cases.
