It sure was a shocker of a TV series. I have the original
series on dvd from the 40's.I never watched it though.

I remember watching the original Batman serial back in the '50s in Weston-super-Mare.

When the TV series came out I couldn't stand it - it was a comedy! :evil:

My take on the 60's TV series was that it was modeled to simulate the actual comic books. That's the best way to appreciate it, it explains the unusual colors and camera tilts. It was a bit campy, as they say, even then, but a worthwhile show. Comical, yes, but well done.

The episodes, or many of them, were done in 2-part series, shown in consecutive nights, with many well known guest stars.
