The United States’ eagerness to kill people who break the law suddenly seems perfectly reasonable according to people learning of the arrest of Justin Bieber today.

Bieber was arrested after taking part in an illegal drag race after drinking alcohol and smoking Marijuana – a crime many are now equating to murder and felony drug-trafficking.

Music fan Simon Williams told us, “I’ve been a staunch opponent of capital punishment in the United States for as long as I can remember, but then you have to look at how heinous a crime drag racing actually is.”

“If you really think about it, it’s up there with rape and child molestation. And they did catch Justin Bieber absolutely red-handed, didn’t they?”

“It’s not like there could be a miscarriage of justice here, is there? I mean he was driving, racing in fact, after drinking and taking drugs. It seems pretty clear-cut to me.”

“I think as long as they don’t have any fourteen year old girls on the jury they’d find him guilty in no time.”

“They should make sure it’s a capital crime then just electrocute him and everyone can move on with their lives safe in the knowledge justice has been done.”

Legal experts have said reclassifying a crime could take state and federal intervention, but that early indications are that it was an extremely popular move.

As one lawyer explained, “The decision to make drag racing punishable by death would be a vote winner not just in Florida, but could lead to the white house for anyone that implements it.”

Rumors that Lil Beebs could be deported back to Canada depress me a bit. Some say that the huge income taxes he pays in the US will keep him on your property for a bit longer.

John Lennon was never deported, perhaps for the same reason, but he never left the US after 1972 for fear he would not be re-admitted (convicted of marijuana possession and politically unpopular with president Nixon). Lennon was 32 at the time, wasn't touring and didn't have any pressing reason to leave the country.

At 19 Bieber may find it necessary to perform outside of the US. Will he be re-admitted?

Of course he hasn't been convicted of anything yet, he is presumed innocent and he has a very good lawyer (Roy Black).

Calm down Carlo, it was just a bit of humour.........in the same way I think that people who cannot park between two white lines and instead take up two parking spaces should be summarily executed and their car crushed. It just shows annoyance at a situation and a lot of taking the p$ss too.

For those of you who have been to Miami Beach, it's usually difficult enough to get around period, let alone drag race.

If I wanted to drag race in Miami, there's plenty of places of areas in the western part of the county where you can, illegally, yes, but at least a bit more safely,
do it, with little or no traffic around.

Not that I support this, far from it. Not much point to prove with illegal drag racing. So what if your car's faster than the next guy's?

And maybe a DUI to boot here also. Another problem with him. Ever hear of "Don't drink and drive"? Fine example he's setting for his fans.

The bottom line is that when you're behind the wheel, you're just like anyone else. They should treat him like anyone else caught drag racing - by the book.
Of course, he's got a well known attorney defending him, so we'll see.
