Both George Harrison and Paul McCartney said that Slim Whitman was one of their earliest inspirations to pursue music. And Slim encouraged a very young Elvis Presley who was just starting in show business. Whether you liked Slim Whitman's songs or not, he had a profound influence on popular music, achieved a lot in his life.
