You could try Bullet for my valentine, or a bit of Maidon will never go wrong. Also a couple of good bands are Pantera, Trivium or Godsmack, only if you like metal though... ;)

Or more on the punk rock side theres My Chemical Romance, Blink 182, Bowling For Soup....

Listening to hard, aggressive rock music, is like polishing my private parts with a wire brush.... :o...!

...now Edward Elgar's Cello Concerto, performed by Daphne Du-Prey, is a totally different experience altogether....

Music to sooth the aching heart...:)...!
(Rather than modify the flippin' brain!)...:o...!

I once heard Slayer described as the musical equivilant of being cleaved in the head ;D

Slayer music are good but if you compare with Satyricon Slayer will sound like Enia or so.... 8)

How about Chimaira? Some good songs are Sp Lit, Let Go, Down Again, and The Impossibility of Reason.

But if you want really good bands, there's always Led Zeppelin. 8)

Hard and aggresive music. Hmm let's think. Digging deep in my dark memories of the past; Morbid Angel, Napalm Death, Kreator, Slayer, Pestilence, Obituary. Haven't got a clue if they all still exist today.

Crash ;)

PS Mozart and Wagner if you are more into classical music. Play it very loud and you scare the neighbours.....

Well, as much as I like the offspring, I would not call them hard/fast/ or aggressive. . .If i want to listen to the sort of metal that says 'don't f*** with me" I listen to:

Old Metallica (pre-"Load" CD)
Artillery ("Violent Breed" is a great song)
Black Label Society (try the song "Demise of Sanity")
Death Angel ("Evil Priest", "Bored", "Devil's Metal")
Godsmack
Slayer

If you are looking for the more fast and aggressive punk stuff (as opposed to metal), there is:
Black Flag
The Misfits
Agent Orange
The Germs
X
Social Distortion might be the sort of thing you are looking for

I'm sorry. You seem to have associated the Offspring with good bands. :P

I agree, start listening to good music: Metallica, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Rammstein!!!

There is only one thing I absolutly hate about the Hard/death metal type music is the singers that can't sing.

Most of it has some awesome music behind a growl or screaming singer that has no talent. Most times the lyrics are incomprehensible.
Which is sad due to the fact that music is gererally pretty cool. I don't care for thousand miles per hour drum beats, but at times it fits well into the whole scheme of things.

Slayer is one that almost has it down pretty good, cool music with a decent singer whom you can understand.
Most recently thanks to XM Radio I heard a song that started out awesome only to be destroyed when the singer came in, the band was Lamb of God (I think) again same as all the other bands a good song ruined by a singer that has no talent so must groan his way through a song.

You get some of these bands to record without vocal I may go out and buy some of it, but for now i will stick with XM and turn off the stuff that you can't listen too due to lack of vocal talent ;)

Shinedown's singer can sure sing. . .and Godsmack's may not have the best voice, but he doesn't scream!

That new Godsmack song (well the cd isnt new)being played on the radio kicks, I love it.
The whole song sounds as if it were being played in a stadium has almost a "live" sound to it thier producer did a awesome job on it.

I also love the harmonica added to it reminds me of old Sabbath and Ozzy kicking it on the Wizard.

Another "thrash metal" band that never really got the credit is Metal Church, thier debut album and sophmore release The Dark are absolute classic metal must haves.
