, un-inteligble-wording, monster-rapping, etc,  ...all courtesy of Jamaica and surrounding areas

Rap has nothing to do with Jamaica .. ignorance my dear fellow - you're mixing it up with reggae  ;D

US black music is unique. Gospel & the blues were just that & have been the inspiration of a huge range of music from the Beatles to Eric Clapton- & rap is an  extention of the blues ... You obviously know nothing about it  ;D  ::)...

I don't like heavy metal - too demonic and dark for me.  I voted Punk and Classical (complete opposites almost)!

Definatly metal. Not nu-metal though. I can't stand the simplicity of it. It makes me sick that people even concider it metal.

Not necessarily, you have stereotyped Christian music in to that category already.  >:(  Christian Rock music is the best.  Go and listen to bands such as Switchfoot, Relient K, The Lads, Third Day, Jars of Clay, The Newsboys, DCTalk, Tobymac, Tait and you will find that it isnt all Hallelujah stuff as u put it.

Specially like:

Relient K - Failure to Excommunicate
              - May the Horse be with you
              - Foward Motion
              - Getting into You

http://www.relientk.com - have a look for urself!

The Lads - Ode to Joy
               - Hey Flower
               - My Forever Smoochy Girl
               - I'll Leave the Looking

http://www.theladsband.com

In fact sometimes you forget your listening to it because it is like any other music and you just don't realise.

So don't be a skeptic about something you havent even bothered to listen to.  In fact there is another Christian punk band called Antiskeptic!  I'd much prefer to listen to some person sing a punk song about how God is saving the world than a punk song that is saying there is no hope and we should all die die die.

Sorry bout the long post but you asked for it.

PolyN >:(

P.S  Jared - Real Praise and Worship is completely awesome as well!!!  ;)

Amen Poly! You are right about praise and worship being the best! That is basically what the Newsboys newest CD Adoration is about, hence I have not taken it out of the CD player in my room, and my truck since I got it back in March! Makes for a pleasant day anyday!

And Fozzer I'm ashamed to say that I know you...have you listened to some of the good stuff? Or are you judging this topic on your atheistic viewpoint, or are you focusing on what you heard back in the 50's?
lol...Just picking on ya...we all have our own viewpoint...

Nuff said,
