Some of the things that make life better, for me anyway, are CDs & MP3s.
I do have some "new" stuff. That being defined as sometime within the last 5 or 10 years.
But most of it ranges from the 1930s to the 1970s.
Pretty much whatever I've EVER liked, in the way of music, is on my computer.
From there, I can transfer a couple of thousand songs to a player that weighs only a bit more than the ear buds that I use for listening.
That possibility didn't exist when I was in my teens. Or even in my twenties.
Other than radios, portable *personal* music wasn't all that portable until the advent of the Sony Walkman cassette player in 1979
It was just a flash though, but I bet that I have at least a little of what most people might like.
And A LOT of music that very few would like.
The drummer that I followed, always went to a different beat.
With two exceptions: There is VERY little opera or rap that I like.
