Alas, one of my favourite actors has passed. But 95 is a remarkable innings.

I will always remember this great actor's portrayal of Captain Nemo in the classic Ray Harryhausen fantasy film,
Mysterious Island. I was 6 years old and I remember the chills I felt when he walked out of the sea wearing that unique sea-shell diving gear. My first anti-hero. And his artificial-eyeball spy camera in
Doppleganger (Journey to the Far Side of the Sun) was another great surprise. Bon voyage, Captain Nemo.

Only yesterday I was talking about "The Ladykillers" (with a young Mr Sellars!) with a work colleague, and how Herbert Lom was still alive in his 90s.
A sad coincidence how a day later he's died.
