I remember him well...

He was an actor I always had difficulty in fitting him into a particular type/style of character....
....always rather docile? He often played evil parts...but never looked naturally evil enough!

At 95 he certainly had a good run-in.!

Paul.

And some more recent ones, in a long list...>>> http://movies.msn.com/wonderwall/in-mem ... y/feature/

The younger people might remember his voice of the character "Mermaid Man" from "SpongeBob SquarePants" and Carface on "All Dogs Go to Heaven 2."

He actually won an Oscar for the movie "Marty".

He was good playing in "McHale's Navy".

Not forgetting The Ghost of Flight 401 and Airwolf.

I always liked Ernest Borgnine.  They've been showing McHale's Navy on a local stations, I never saw it back then, he's good.  We'll miss him.

I liked him best in one of his lesser roles in The Dirty Dozen, he was also excellent in the Poseidon Adventure and Airwolf. RIP :'(

A natural character actor, with huge talent (check out Marty sometime)...one of the few "bonding rituals" I had with my old man (a WWII Coast Guard vet)was that we liked to watch McHale's Navy together.  :)
The only sad thing about him passing at 95 is that I never got to buy him a drink.  ;)

When were you planning to buy him a drink?
