Pioneer of the solid-body electric guitar (and designer of the legendary axe that bears his name), inventor of multitrack recording, and just a damn good guitar player...
But 94 is pretty good, he had a great life.

Just heared the news... What a pity, but 94 is a respectable age. Truely a legend of our times!

Last weekend I was at my guitarshop and I must admitt, if I get anywhere decent with my Strat, one of his beauties will join my collection. His creation looks drop dead gorgeous!

Just heard the news, 94 is a good run, and he did us guitarists good, so RIP Les, and thanks for it all.  I've had my share of Gibson LP's, they were all just great.

PBS broadcast a 90 minute 'American Masters' documentary, 'The Les Paul Sound', last night, the doc was absolutely riveting, brought out a lot about Les Paul that I, for one, never knew.  Les Paul himself narrated the way thru the doc.  It's available on DVD through PBS websites.  There was a lot of footage of Les and Mary Ford together also, performing usually with a pair of early gold top Les Pauls. also recent footage of Les.  He certainly was a great guitarist in his own right.
