Fly2e's original band from the early 90's!

Postby Fly2e » Fri Oct 03, 2008 7:18 am

Divine Right was a progressive rock band, kind of a mix between Rush, Metallic & U2! Progressive but melodic!. We played allot of venues and had a real nice 5 song Demo called "Humble Beginnings". We shopped it to many A&R guys but they were still looking for "pretty boy" glam rock bands back then. As usual, after 5 years of trying to get signed, we got frustrated without anybody getting back to us, so we decided to call it quits. 6 months later both Brian & Dave moved up to Boston and went to Berkley to create the Band "BIG WRECK". They were signed by Atlantic, put out 2 albums and did allot of touring up in Canada as that was were they were really popular. After the 2nd album and not much "backing" here in the states, Atlantic dropped them and they broke up.

I still keep in touch with Brian the guitarist who now lives in Canada and Jim the singer who still lives here in New York. Give a listen and tell me what you think. The songs are hosted at a site that is dedicated to Ian Thornley who after leaving Big Wreck, was signed again and is putting out his 2nd album soon.

If that was the case, the dude who signed Dee Snyder and Twisted Sister must have been blind. ;D

Sounds good, Dave. Shame you never made it. You were on drums, right?

I know. I do not think you can. I should check with Pete and see if he would let me upload the file to Simv!

Not bad said dad ;).

Actually, some of those riffs would be absolutely perfect for some video games I've played, very catchy, some of them ;).

I like the live version even better than the demo, but did you really play for such a crowd? Sounds like a festival or something...

Just download Audacity and record it off your sound card. Slow, but effective! ;D

And, uh, be sure to send Dave a check... *cough*
