Ninja Warrior...

Postby Wing Nut » Fri Feb 22, 2008 11:37 pm

Has anyone seen this on G4?  The obstacles they have to conquer in this show are INSANE.  Especially the part where you have to hang by your fingertips and cross a thirty foot gap.  They were saying that out of some 17,000 contestants, only TWO have ever completed the course.  This is a Japanese show, with English subtitles, but still keeps you interested and on the edge of your seat the whole time.

An interesting thing is the attitude of the contestants in this thing.  It's almost completely the opposite of what you might see on American TV.  The contestants here actually root for each other to succeed, and when they fail, almost universally, there is never an excuse why, but simply that they did their best and would have to try harder next time.  It's a refreshing change from crap like American Gladiator, which emphasizes dominating an opponent instead of challenging yourself.

Here's the site, but they don't show you much...

My younger cousins like to watch the show, so i've had to sit through an episode or two. It's interesting, but reality tv shows just aren't my thing...

I think its on Bravo, and I used to watch it loads. Great looking gameshow. I would love to enter it just for the sake of seeing how hard it is (some bits dont look all that tricky from on the other side of the lens, but it still looks like a lot of fun)
