I haven't seen the movie yet, though I want to very badly.

If it is anything like the book, then I too will love it.

two things, dont go in building it up to the book.
The two dont compair.
I liked the movie but the ending was awful. I dont know if they ran out of money, or if they just got bored, but that movie had a good 30 more minutes to it really. And after the first hour you could just tell they were then rushing to the end.
Will Smith as always made this movie a good watch. I cant think of too many actors that could have gotten that character across like he did.

IMO their are few proper actors out their today, and one of them is Will Smith, a man with a natural talent

i think he is amazing in I Am Legend, a great film and a good watch, as long as its  a good watch who cares, i am going to read the book to see how it compares.

cheers
kermit.

A fave of mine when I was a kid... something about having the world to yourself; I dunno.
Maybe it's because I hate people... ;D

Which was, in turn, a remake of the sorta corny but Vincent Price-driven The Last Man on Earth, which was, in turn, a film adaptation of the excellent book I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.

Some trivia: when they were filming the Columbus Circle scenes for this latest one, I was in the Duane Reade drugstore there during my lunch break and some snotty young PA came in and said "Everybody- you all have to stay inside here for about ten minutes..." (they wanted to get a shot of the area sans people, cars, etc.).
I said "oh really?" and walked out the door... LOL

I'm amazed sometimes at how these punks think they can force New Yorkers to stop what they're doing-including earning a living- without even saying "please". Mind-blowing.
Had he offered each of us $20 or a premiere ticket, I might have cooperated... ;D
