GCSE- typography

Postby machineman9 » Tue Sep 18, 2007 11:26 am

alright, as you may or may not know, im starting my GCSEs (america doesnt have them do they? they are basically where you take several lessons further and get a grade that you can put on your CV with)

anywho, one of the subjects i chose was Art Graphics... today was our first day on the computers and using Photoshop Elements we were asked to use only numbers and letters to create a varied, layered and interesting image that we would develop over time

here it is:

please C+C it, and tell me what you like, dislike or any impressions that you get from it. oh, and please say if you would like to see more... i got 2 years of graphics to go and it needs to go somewhere (i know this first image looks a little odd  ;D )

cheers

What a strange task....why dont we get stuff like that :D:D:D

It looks alright....a bit plain for my liking...I would explore the patterns you can make through letters...you're starting to do it with the Ys and ks...

Also find an artist that does the same kind of thing and do a bit of research....that's an integral part to Art GCSE....

thanks for the advice... we are developing it next lessonish, there is soposed to be a line going down the middle but the gradient blocked it off and it cant be seen here. ill ask my teacher who does similar things... i also want to add a sort of cartoon 2-tone shadow and color to the letters in future lessons
