I think they all should be good!

Red Tails has the potential but there is already a fine movie on the Tuskeegee Airman staring Lawerance Fishburn, that C.I. Williams a original Airman told me personally was very accurate.
Knowing what they have done to other WWII related movies, over glamorizing and turning them into "romantic" crap, ie Pearl Harbor. I fear that Lucas may not do the Airmen justice.

Flags of Our Fathers should be a excellent movie! The book was as real as it gets and if Eastwood directs like he always does, this should be a fine tribute to those who fought for our freedoms. And Im eager to also see the sister movie protraying the other side of the battle!

I haven't been to a movie theater since Jurassic Park, but am making plans to go this fall!!!

George Lucas?  Clint Eastwood?  Oh dear.

I could be proved wrong though.  It'd be nice for once.

Band of Brothers was excellent.  The Pacific War holds promise for me.

Tuskeege Airmen is accurate in the events and spirit it depicted things in.  In order to capture everything, they rolled events that took place with several pilots over time into the experiences of the individuals in the movie.  I enjoyed the movie, but hollywood had to take liberties in order to tell the whole story.

Red-Tails:
I'm looking forward to seeing that!  Heck, I've been to Moton Field (Tuskeege, Al) twice!  Sadly, it was allowed to deteriorate, but a parks service employee said they got funding to fix it up.  But that was 2 years ago.

Flags Of Our Fathers:
I'm looking forward to seeing that too!

The-Pacific-War:
When, O when will that project ever get finished?

Hopefully, nobody will take any historical-revisionist liberties.  Just tell the story, as it happened.  Please, no moralizing!  Heck, I remember looking forward to Thin Red Line.  When I finally saw it, I thought, "what kind of crap is this?"  Horrible movie!

If you really want a stink-a-thon, Windtalkers for the win.

Quite possibly the worst war movie ever.  Although this is a bold statement.

I thought it was too cliche bound, not to mention melodramatic.  There's another reason, but that's politics!

A friend of mine said they didn't even bother to use real Navajo or whatever American Indian language they had.  Of course, I wouldn't know if he's telling the truth.

The only reason I give it points is because it was PTO vs ETO.  God knows there's enough Normandy films. :P

I see your point.  However, the way I see it, certain liberties were taken to roll all the related matter up into one set of characters.  There had the racist, the sympathetic friend, the duty-first uber-marine, etc.  Because all these types of people existed.  They were a part of the history.  But in order to tell an interesting story, all these types were rolled up into one group of people.  I don't have a problem with those types of liberties being taken.  Heck, they only had roughly 2 hours to tell the story.  Compromizes had to be taken.  But the way I see it, the spirit of the historical events were preserved.  So I have no beef with it.  I thought it was a good movie.

Oh, don't get me wrong, archetypical characters strike no wrongs in my book.  Saving Private Ryan had some very stereotypical characters, and it's one of the best movies I've seen. :)
