just say it like:

Screen name

Here goes, from a former marching band member...

Mobius
Middleton High School Marching Band
Red and White
Brass
Trumpet
#1/#2/#5 (Freshman/Sophmore/Senior wasn't in band when I was a junior, maybe why I dropped three chairs :P ::))

Can't say I really enjoyed marching band (sorry ::)) while I played the trumpet though, moving around and concentrating on everything but playing the trumpet, it was tough.  The only people I ever talked to who liked marching band were the percussionists, and the few times I did play snare in marching band it was really fun, so I can see where you're coming from.  :) ;)

Twas a long time ago...

Rottydaddy
Nyack High School Indians
Black, white, and red
Persussion
Snare drum

We had some kick-ass "street beats", and a very hip music director... he'd get us charts of "Sir Duke" and stuff like that. Pretty hip for ca. 1980! "Drumline" it wasn't, but we were pretty funky.
Best part was my girlfriend at the time, who really never played drums before, was playing bass drum (she later told me she'd signed up just to get close to me: she was a year ahead, so we had no classes together). She got pretty good at it, and it was a fun thing to do together. Here's a poor-quality pic of the band, ca. 1979:

I'm actually not in this picture for some reason, but that's Herself on the right. She used to have hair down to her butt, and usually kept it in long braids. Sexy, but sometimes it got in the way ("Ow! You're on my hair!!").
I was always flattered that some girl would lug that damn drum around just to get near me... ;D
