Worked briefly as part of George Michaels security detail during a British tour, and even drove him around a couple of times. Embarrassing but true :-[
Placido Domingo, I worked with him at the Royal Opera House when I was a child (singer, I would like to add that since my voice broke I haven't been able to hit a note!), he is possibly the most unpleasant, self-centered, mean spirited, imbecile I've ever had the misfortune to meet!
Will Carling the former England Rugby captain, this was at the time of the Diana affair, and he asked if I'd be prepared to swear in court that I was having a drink with him, and he wasn't involved in any secret trysts ;DFunny guy, really nice bloke.
A number of British TV personalities.
Here in Hungary a lot of famous TV personalities, and a couple of pop stars.
And my favourite Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the worlds greatest living explorer and one of my heros. Had a couple of G 'n Ts with him once in a hotel bar, what a man!

Most of you (Unless your a fan of 3rd division UK football) wont know this, but i nearly got into a pub brawl with Shrewsbury Towns Goalkeeper 4 days after the 2-1 win over Everton. ;D

Somewhere in the 70's they used to allow concerts in the Orange Bowl (Miami).  I was just out of high school working as a security guard (what a joke) for one of them.  I was posted at an obscure back gate - primarily to make sure no one snuck in - when Gregg Allman drove up in a limo.

He was stoned, intoxicated, something, but I recognized him and let him in.

I doubt he remembers me.

I've also attended several PGA (Golf) tournaments where you can get within about 10 feet of any famous golfer in the world (including Tiger Woods, but he usually draws a pretty big crowd).  The only good autograph I have is from Jack Nicklaus but I've been within 10 feet of just about everyone.

And I met Larry Czonka (Miami Dolphins undefeated world champions American football - 1972) in the Jacksonville airport bar.  He bought me a Miller Lite and gave me an autograph.

I'm sure like many people here - I have no particular regard for 'celebrity'  ;D  .. In fact the notion of commercialism & celebrity is ruining music IMHO .... (take boy/girl bands as an example - then the real artists get overlooked...) There are undoubtably plenty of really talented people out there who don't fit the commercial package & don't get published .... Most will give up eventually & get a job ... happens all the time - meanwheil we have to put up with garbage packaged music  :-X

But :

Diana Ross - was a customer of mine off & on for about 6 months (she once asked me fo the 'dirtiest video in the shop' - which I obliged.. :) )
Ray Davies (Kinks) - as above - though for 3 years
Leo Sayer - as above
Di Spencer (lady di - now dead) - as above
(+ several other's in the above job I can't bring to mind right now... oh yes - Phil Linnot (Thin Lizzy) ..about 2 months before he died .. )

Steven Spielberg - contacted me near the start of SimV about using some FS Aircraft in a film project he was working on :) - only heard from him once :)
