
In some way that's not so different from here (England, Wales, etc. are states); technically, the U.S. is a union of many little (well, various-sized) state and territorial countries, most with their own counties (equivalent to shires, thus we also have sheriffs).I still don't understand the difference between UK, England, etc. Y'all need to settle your differences and become one country so I don't get anymore headaches.
