Drinking and driving...

I would like to share an experience with you about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from the odd social session over the years.

Well, I have done something about it: a couple of nights ago I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many glasses of rose as well as a few brandies, but, knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before - I took a bus home. I arrived home safely and without incident which was a real surprise, since I had never driven a bus before ;D ;D ;D

I must admit Mark, for a second, I forgot I was in the humor section and did not see that coming.

You remind me of a story, maybe embellished, but it was an actual event. A young fellow liked his beer, even if he had to walk a mile for it, and had a bent towards inebriation. He'd stocked his workplace locker up and, after work let out, he drank an ample amount down before heading home. On his way home, he waved as the officer drove by him and nearly crashed into the cruiser when the officer cut him off. He was arrested for driving under the influence, driving under 10mph in a 35mph zone, not pulling over for an official vehicle, driving without a license and -- stealing the company dozer.

Those 'after effects' are as insignificant as the thought of opening the door first.  :-X
