Open Letter to President Obama

Dear Mr. President,

Please find below a solution for the US American economy.

Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that WILL use the money for their own company's benefit or worse (squander the money on lavish parties and bonuses ) please use the following plan.

NOTE:   You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:

There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. - Pay them $5 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:

1) They MUST retire and will also get any other 'other' fully earned retirement savings/benefit but not until till age 70. This creates Forty million job openings without strain on the investment system - Unemployment/wall street is fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR with a value of at least 30K or higher. Forty million luxury cars ordered/sold with no financing - Auto Industry is fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house and pay cash if currently renting-or- pay off all their mortgage(s) -and- buy another property and pay cash - Housing Crisis/banks are ALL fixed.

4) Since 40 million will now be able to afford top quality health insurance for the rest of their life they will no longer be a burden to the system for Medicaid/Medicare which will completely resolve the heath care crisis.

5) Most if not all of the recipients will not need social security to make ends meet (depending on the age they are when this program is executed) and therefore the social security system will most likely be fixed or at the very least extended greatly so those paying do not get robbed of their hard earned benefit.

The amount spent on this is significantly less than any bailout or current/future bill and still leaves MEGA-room for a infrastructure stimulus that would solve ALL other major issues of transportation and power grid problems.

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress and their constituents (including wall street) ACTUALLY pay their taxes...

Sincerely,

.....

It would be great, but it would cost about 100x the cost of the current bailout.

What is funny is that I saw this posted to a news outlets comments section on a story. I think it was only $1M, and it some of the reaction to the comment indicated that people thought it was a great and viable solution.

yes I know about the math...   I just thought it was funny

sent to me in email from a friend

and I do remember seeing it somewhere else.. thought it was the Tampa Tribune and the amount was 1 million each

I do think the idea is sound!  Especially having Wall Street actually pay their taxes    ;D

They just need to work out the numbers!

Very good plan, I said. My million is already spent and I trust my portion should arrive soon. Not to worry, as my creditors have allowed me a generous 30 days to respond...    ;D
