Located near a refugee route from a war zone, an orthopedist had an abundance of patients with leg injuries, the greater majority being males. He decided it would speed up his progress to make a chart and have his nurse rate the incoming patients for cast sizes while they were in waiting. However, on the first day of implementing the procedure the doctor peeked out when ready for the first patient and saw that most of the adult males, and many of the older male youths, had disappeared.
"Where'd the rest of the patients go?" he asked his nurse.
"Well, sir, they began hobbling and crawling -- and with no lack of haste -- out the door and even out the window as soon as I informed them that everyone with a leg injury had to be cast-rated first."8-)
