Just to Fill the Gap

This particular forum seems a little slow on entries for humor (not doing any better with humour, either). The following may be a bit old but...

It was a long flight and a blonde (just hapened to be) was seated next to an academic who suggested they play a game of Question & Answer. She, however, was quite reluctant, evidently a bit intimidated, so he told her that he'd wager $20 to her $1 per question they couldn't answer and he'd try not too get too technical. She accepted and allowed him to ask first.
"What star in the constellation Ursa Major is approximately 8.6 light years away?"
"You said you wouldn't get technical," she replied, "but that's serious."
He momentarily puckered his lips then, with a nod, "Yes, it is Sirius," to which she just stared at him rather blankly as he continued, "Your turn to ask."
"What is born tomorrow, died yesterday and is only found on Mars."
He knew this must be some sort of riddle so he thought about it for some time. Finally giving up, he handed her $20 and asked what the answer was.
"I thought you would know -- I don't."

We don't have a special forum for disasters and mishaps; hoping you don't mind slang terms I'll just mention...

A dairy truck collided with a truck transporting preserves. Both trucks were creamed and traffic was jammed for hours.
