Why do French tanks have rearview mirrors on them?*

So they can see the battlefield!

*This joke was not meant to hurt anyone's pride so if you are French, do not be angered.

And just incase you're a little bit slow, the French are retreating so the mirrors are reflecting the battlefield that they are retreating from. Just wanted to make it clear.

Oh yeah I heard that one, except it ended with, "What's the forward gear for? In case they get attacked from behind!"
But I think that goes into a little to much detail and kills the joke

Edit: Just occured to me that the Swiss weren't and still aren't a militarily sound country. They stay neutral
