Okay, just to be even on the sides of the pond, I thought I'd post a bit of American crap:

Dane Cook - CAUTION: stong language!

Robin Williams - CAUTION: strong language!

Enjoy, folks. ;)

ah brit comedy vs american comedy? Heres one for you

Britain, Started the great TV series "The Office" Designed and written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. This then led to the American equivelent "The Office: An American Workplace." Same type of humor, same layout = Different country. Great stuff

And to amend the previous edition:

Dane Cook Pt. 2 - CAUTION: read above! This one is a bit of a repeat of the first, with more material added . . .

Don't worry, Archamedes: I don't compare American comedy to British.  There exists no medium by which to hold the two side by side.  Apples y oranges, so to speak.  But I did feel it necessary to add a little lowbrow to the stuff currently running through our midst.

Still like the British humour. It seems to be a bit more cerebral and you have to watch/listen closely.
Today's American humor seems to always be geared toward a narrow band of topics. It gets boring after a while.

I would tend to agree, but the ones I have mentioned so far are a little more intelligent than your usual prose.  But you can never say that Robin Williams isn't funny.

Ron White

Ron is, however, very funny.  He may be a bit "suthern" (technical term :P ;)) but he is EXTREMELY funny . . .

If your after some decent American humour, then you really should be watching Bill Hicks - a legend.

Cheers,
