Recently, someone with a name ending with "...yana" and an origin obvious accent was asked if she were from the UK. I could have interjected with, "Try a little closer to the Caucasus," but I fear he may have just thought it was some sort of racial slur.
A 7-year-old confusing "England" with "New England"* is one thing -- those over 9 years old thinking Mexico is a state in the union (U.S.)* is another.

*No, I didn't -- but I knew the ones who did! ::)
