Room at the inn?
Posted: Sun Jul 30, 2006 1:57 pmA pair of hikers are touring the Pennines and get lost. They arrive in a village a little after midnight and see an old inn called the George and Dragon so they knock on the door in the hopes of getting a room for the night.
A window flies open above them and the landladys head pops out "Bugger off we're closed and I need my sleep if I'm to work in the morning!" and with that the window slams shut.
Undettered they try again and once more the window flies open and the landlady shouts down to them "I told you to bugger off and stop disturbing my sleep! Didn't you understand me?"
"Perfectly" they reply in unison "we just wanted to know if we could speak to George this time?"
