You make a valid point, but I think that can be put under the law about falling only when you realize it. e.g.

bugs' plane stops inches from the ground
Bugs: Ran out of gas
Someone else: That doesn't make sense
the law kicks in at this point (they realize they should fall)
Plane smashes
