oh GOD these are SO TRUE! i just got a new laptop (a dell inspiron 1300 for anyone who cares) and it comes with windows xp. I put in the Visual Studio install disc. 6 windows pop up.
1. Corel Draw - edit photos
2. Corel Draw - veiw photos
3. Photoshop - edit photos
4. iPAQ image veiwer - copy files to mobile device
5. Windows thingy asking what to do
6. DO you want to install Visual Studio.

MAYBE i just want to EXPLORE WHATS ON THE DISC????

Anyhoo, rant about xp is over.

i do miss classics though, like after a clean install of 98 you boot into it and get explorer.exe has caused an error in shell32.dll and will now terminate. Or shell32.dll is currupt, and my fav was after you install drivers you have installed 100 times before you reboot and low and behole windows protection fault. I kinda miss that stuff

Well... they're all better than seeing the white text "booting failed, OS not avilable" after you've just installed XP and had to go to the toilet  for 2 seconds... :o

Nah... I don't think I like Bill Gates anymore... >:(

(In fact I forgot to change back the system startup order and had it on cd-rom only  ;D ;D)
