It could refer to the fact that Mr Blair paid an unannounced visit the troops in Iraq today.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4551650.stmWithout some idea of the accompanying article it's impossible to understand what it's supposed to mean but it's pretty tasteless even for a political cartoon. Sorry Alpha. I'm one of the man's strongest critics but I don't find it funny either & don't think it belongs in the jokes forum.

There was some very solemn pictures which is what this is based upon. It is tasteless and althouhg I'd love to see the back of Tony Blair I feel it is highly inappropriate.
Surprised it wasn't cleaned off actually.
I just found it after a search.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/4263648.stmAfter revisiting the webpage I think it is disgraceful of the papers to those who daily risk their lives out there.
Here is the image:

Need to watch what is posted...its not always as funny as it may seem...

One of my cousins (who drove tanks in Iraq) is currently in a Kuwait hospital after he and his group nearly burned to death in a tank less then a month ago :-/

Thats not at all good triple_7 hope he will be ok.
I dont blame Alpha in this one, he's just posting something he saw. In my opinion its the newspapers and their artists who should get the blame. They lack creativity and know they have beaten this whole situation to death so they need new shocking ways to grab the readers attention. The art of the clever and funny cartoon is gone. In my History classes we used to have to analyse and write up all the hidden meanings in cartoons from World War 2 and 1, and what the artist was trying to portray. I feel that talent has long been lost, to the mainstream tabloid.

I'm sorry, what the hell is so funny about a man burning to death in a tank?

I see from reading your posts that it is supposed to be Tony Blair. I wouldn't even find it funny if it was my least favorite president from my own country. :-/

It might not be what it was but I dont think the Times would be regarded as a tabloid by most people. I could be quite wrong about that & I note the offending image has been removed anyway.
