On rare occasions there are some new ones.

I screwed up and posted one Theis had along time ago and several of my old jokes were rehashed several times. My only complain is when the rehashed ones get more responses then when I first posted them....

I know I'm not going to look back over all the pages in the joke forum to see what has been posted before...

Of course they may just say that to annoy people as well. Or they may be remembering jokes they heard some where else. I bet not many of them bother to look back over all the pages either.

But sooner or latter you'll hit one, so don't give up. God knows I've had my fair share of duds....

Don't worry... it is all said in good houmour after all if they had why would they look here?

A few points:
1) Most people actually haven't seen them before. Note the post count of those that say it. Big hint here. Then look at the responses of those that obviously enjoyed it. Look at the viewings - loads of people will read it and as I said most would never have seen it ever.
2) Sometimes good ones are worth reposting and refreshers are good for the brain.

I very rarely visit this part of the forum so have no way of knowing if a joke has been posted before or not. If I see something that makes me laugh I sometimes post it with the proviso; If this has been posted before I don't care & don't want to know.

There's only a certain number of jokes & the rest are all variations on a theme. In the days before national radio & TV, comedians could use the same act in theatres & music halls for years without worrying about whether the audience had heard their material before. Nowadays it's used once & finished. All part of the throwaway society we live in.

PS. I thought of that as I was typing it. Rather profound of me don't you think?

Not every single joke has been posted before, but many popular ones have been posted to death and many people continue to post them (b/c they are popular) and you see us say 'been posted before' many times that way.

Heck I've been known to post the same joke twice... silly as it was normally only the week before I'd posted it

One nice thing about being relatively new- most of the aviation jokes posted here are new to me, so I can't complain!
