a British Officer of the Royal Army was taken prisioner by the French and interiogated...

(French Officer) "Why do your Officers wear Red Coats, it just makes it easier for our men to shoot you."

British Officer replies...

(British Officer) "We wear Red Coats so that when we are shot our men don't freak out from seeing us bleed and flee."

... And ever since the French Officers have worn Brown Pants
