My teacher told me this in class.

A phone conversation between a hunter and a 911 operator.

Hunter: Is this 911?
911: Yes
Hunter: I think I shot and killed my friend, we're out hunting.
911: Ok, don't panic. First thing we want to do is to make sure he is dead.
Hunter: Ok, hold on
[-short pause-]
[-gunshot-]
Hunter: Ok, what do I do now?

I think it was because a broad range of people found it funny. I dont know if they thought it was really funny, but they came from all walks of life.
